Hide In ShadowsBrowser GamesWednesday, July 12, 2006I have been researching a few browser-based MMOGs lately, since they seem to be hugely popular, and I must confess I am still a bit confused about their success. Personally I find most browser-based games rather boring, although I realise I am not exactly core target audience.
Comments:
i'm playing hattrick ( www.hattrick.org ), a online football (soccer) manager, which is quite fun because it's not that time consuming. I only log in twice a week, no suprising late night attacks, no factory finishing during worktime.
Reminds me alot of Planetarion. I tried this one and for 2 days I just cant seem to explore the next star over :(
Bad Claus! No getting addicted to BBgames! You're still in crunch mode! XD
I guess I should say that it's nice that you're doing your research, at least, but I like seeing that you're taking care of your other needs too. Keep up the work, and hope to see the project come to fruition.
I believe there succes is of there availability... those who go to internetcafe's/school/work/etc ussually/obviously are not able to install an entire client.
I used to work in a library and I would see young kids playing some bbmmg all day long. I took a peek at the URL one day but I forgot it now.

From a social perspective its probably fairly unhealthy for the wee ones. But as a gamer I'm glad to see potential fresh meat for the grinder.
