Hide In Shadows

Two Years Old!

Wednesday, January 25, 2006
Tomorrow this site will officially be two years old. I guess less than 30 posts in two years is not much to brag about, but at least I left some room for improvement!

At work everything is going well. We have reached several important milestones, and we also recently moved to bigger offices - which was badly needed - so morale is high.

For me it's mostly about work and my son right now. I haven't really played a game in ages. I wish I could say I was pumped up about a MMOG, but sadly none of the upcoming games interest me much. I just can't get excited about PVE games, no matter how many instances they are running, what sweet movie/pen & paper license they have bought, or how many monsters you get the joy of killing before you have been through all the quests.

The new expansion for Guild Wars looks semi-interesting though, so I'll probably check that one out.

Oh yea, I switched to a new commenting system again, this time to the one blogger is providing, so all the old comments went poof. I promise not to switch anymore. I also joined Google's AdSense program, so now I can just sit back and watch you mindless drones click the ads, and I will be a intarweb billionaire in no-time!
Comments:
lol you just may become a billionaire seeing how this link has been posted on the forums =] prepare for the zerg

You should sell advertising space to other website in exchange for their webspace and write it off as revenue!

You'll either get really rich or imprisoned...Can't remember which.

I agree there is no good mmorpgs on the horizon, except you know...

Anyways, there is a trackmania game coming out next month. http://www.trackmanianations.com/
I've always had lots of fun with the trackmania games, and this one will be all free.

Never even heard about trackmania. I'll check it out, thanks for the tip.

Oblivion looks promising, I am going to get it for Xbox 360, comming for pc too.. these mmo's are just getting old, same instanced crap I have played 20 times already..

Maby companys will clue in that instances should not be in mmo's.

Nice baby Claus and it s good to hear everything is fine at work ^-^

Right on about the MMOG, there isnt a month without a post in the SUN board about the lack of decent game and the hopes we will one day have the fun from UO, AC etc again.

Otherwise gamewise eventhough no mmog have you tried dota? I m also waiting for Oblivion with impatience.

Cool, good to hear things are going well. IMO the only interesting MMOG on the horizon is Darkfall. My guild Sturmgrenaider is very excited about the potential of this game. Keep kicking ass!

If you're interested in PvP and can't stand the care-bear style that most games seem to have out there, I would suggest looking up Trials of Ascension over at www.shadowpool.com . Now a word of warning: there are no classes, no leveling, no permanent spawn locations, minimal NPC help (Except to start civilizations off) no random stupid drops (Kill a rat, there won't be gold, or armor, or a sword, there will be parts of the rat you can scavenge. Kill a minotaur with armor, you will be able to pick up that armor), there will be full looting, and open PvP, settlement rules, permadeath, and there will be a Great deal of player skill involved when it comes to fighting (No click, sit back, hit buttons in sequential order and you're home free, if you aren't careful, you can die by a , very lucky, total noob)
Currently the game is only in Alpha stages, but it has been in the works for a handful of years now. Don't go bashing it just yet, read up on the entire thing down to the last detail, and you will find a unique compelling system in the works. Hope to see you around!
